CHARGING POLICY and FEES for children's lessons (beginners and intermediate)
During an initial probation period lessons are charged for by the occasion. After this time, payment is based, pro-rata, on an annual tuition fee, payable in advance by termly installments. The teaching schedule runs for a minimum of 36 weeks a year. Missed lessons are chargeable, however every effort is made to make these up at a future date where practicable.
Most lessons are of half-an-hour duration although shorter and longer sessions are accommodated. While the majority of lessons are one-to-one, shared tuition is also offered, if appropriate. Most lessons are given on weekdays.
For younger students the fees include the loan, if required, of a high-specification instrument (1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 sizes) - older students are expected to have their own full-sized instrument. They also include opportunities to take part in workshops and informal performances and - if the student is keen and ready to take a formal examination - complimentary piano accompaniment where practicable.
When a student is to terminate their lessons, six week's notice is respectfully required or payment in lieu.
FEES for advanced students and adults
Because the needs and lives of advanced students and adult learners are generally more complex, lessons are charged per occasion and timetabled on an lesson-by-lesson basis.
