If you are seeking violin or viola lessons, either for yourself or for a minor, please have a look at the Contact and Fees Information page. Nothing can really beat a face-to-face consultation but here's a brief summary of what I am able to offer you:
- Over 20 years' experience of teaching and performing (check out the Concerts link for forthcoming local events) backed by certification in teaching and professional performance from the Royal Academy of Music, www.ram.ac.uk. I actively pursue the benefits of ongoing professional development and am currently studying for a post-graduate diploma in instrumental teaching at Reading Universirty.
- The free loan of a high-spec student instrument of the appropriate size to younger learners (1/8 to 3/4 size); (full-size instruments are not supplied but informed advice on purchasing is offered if requested;)
- Free workshops and opportunities to perform informally and member rates for ISM sponsored events;
- Free piano accompaniment for music exams (up to Grade 4 and subject to my availability;)
- Public liability insurance cover and a recent CRB 'enhanced disclosure' statement (available for inspection). A parent/carer is always welcome to observe a child's lessons and those of younger children are actively encouraged to do so.
